Mama's Manna, Manna, Fo-Fanna, Fee-Fi, Fo-Fanna, Blueberry-Banana Freeze

My family adores ice cream.  They ask for it everyday in some shape or form.  Let's face it, as good as it is, we know that ice cream isn't good for us.  My solution?  Mama's...... Manna Manna, Fo-Fanna, Fee-Fi, Fo-Fanna, Ba-nan-a.... Freeze.  It is loaded with excellent real food nutrition.  Once you taste it, you'll never want another milkshake ever again....I promise!

Printable Recipe

Add together in your blender:  3 or 4 frozen bananas and 1 cup frozen blueberries.

Also add 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.  You can add more if you want it to be a little more cinnamony.  (Cinnamony?  Is that a word.  You knew exactly what I meant didn't you!)

Next relax and add some flax...flaxseed that is....omega 3 gold!

Throw in a couple of tablespoons of it.  If you add a little less or more, it will forgive you!

Now go ahead and add @ 4 cups of vanilla almond milk.  You can also add a little vanilla if that floats your boat.  You can never have enough vanilla!  It makes things vanillay!

Now for the secret ingredient....wait for it......wait for it.....

That's right!  If you don't have coconut oil in your cabinet.  Go get some right away.  Not only can you use it in cooking, you can use it as a skin moisturizer and healer, chap stick, and even stretch mark reducer.  Plus it's really amzing for the inside of your body as well!

Oh yeah....add about 1 TBS of it to this frozen goodness.

Now give it all a good mix in your blender until a beautiful tornadic-like vortex appears.  (Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore!)

Pour in glasses, garnish with something pretty, and go receive the praises from your family.  You don't believe me??  Give it a try....

Voila!  Mama's......... Manna-Manna, Fo-Fanna, Fee-Fi, Fo-Fanna......
Blueberry-Ba-nan-a.....Freeze!

Ice cream is so yesterday!

  1. What is the reason for the coconut oil? Does it add flavor?

    1. Yes. It does add flavor plus I am a big believer in the health benefits that it adds. I also use it for cooking and as a daily moisturizer. I do make smoothies and shakes without the coconut oil, but I particularly like this combination with the added flavor of the oil. Thanks for stopping by!
